Day 6

We left our condo in Kihei and went to our hotel in Wailea about a mile south. The city of Wailea is so beautiful. Kihei was pretty but did not realize how close we were to an even more beautiful place. Before we went to the hotel we tried to find Makena beach. We saw it from the car and stopped by this sign to take a picture of McKenna in the city Makena.
This is our hotel room at The Grand Wailea. It was a beautiful resort and one of the nicest on Maui. Thanks to Scott for all his travelling so we were able to use some hotel points to stay here a couple of days.

The first thing we did was go swimming. We went up and down the water slides.

The Wailea beach was beautiful and probably my favorite beach.

Footprints in the Sand.
The rest of the pictures are on the grounds of The Grand Wailea Resort
Pictures from our lanai.
The bridge the girls crossed to get to the pool.

A little chapel if you want to get married in Maui.

We went to the Outback for dinner. The girls stayed in a room with grandma and grandpa and Scott and I had Colby. He woke up a lot during the night. We went to bed early every night in Maui. Somewhere between 8:30 and 9:30pm. Maui is 2 hours behind Spokane and plus the daylight savings time we had. We tried to stay with the Spokane time.

Day 7

We spent most of the day relaxing and swimming in the pool at the resort. The girls loved the water slides.

McKenna went on the rope swing at least 50 times.

Colby finally got use to the water and loved it.

Scott talked his mom into taking scuba lessons with him. Scott was going to go in the ocean on a scuba dive but it was cancelled due to murky water. Too bad I had a little cold and could scuba.

We also went and did some shopping, got some pizza and shaved ice with Maui milk.

Scott and I enjoyed the hot tub by ourselves while watching the sun set. How romantic.

Day 8

Statue of King Kamehameha, first king of Hawaii. He united all the Hawaiian Islands together.

Sad to say good bye.
Woke up to our last morning in Maui. Grandma and Kenna enjoyed their last daily walk along the beach. We enjoyed some time on the Lanai taking in the beauty of Hawaii. Took a few more pictures. Packed up. Said Aloha and headed to Wendy's for lunch, then took back the rental van and headed to the airport to catch the plane for our 4 and a half hour flight back to Portland. The girls watched the newest Ice Age movie, we had lots to drink and enjoyed our snacks on the plane. Colby was a little cranky on the plane ride where grandpa Cutler notice he just cut his first tooth and the second one ended up coming through three days later. We sure loved Hawaii and can't wait to go back. What a wonderful time we had.

Plane ride back to Portland. Then we took a bus to our car and headed to the Hampton Inn for the night.

DAY 9

Monday morning we drove from Portland to Kennewick, WA where we visited Cam's cousin he last saw 30 years ago. Had a nice visit and then went to Wendy's for lunch and headed back to Spokane to complete our trip.

On our way out of Portland we stopped for a second to look at the Multnomah Falls.

Colby is six months old today. He decided to eat
his tie instead of cake to celebrate.

Beautiful sweater and hat that great grandma Baldwin made.

Don't they look so serious. We tried to get Colby to smile.

Handsome Boy

Before and after breakfast this morning.

Fall Time

The girls wanted to earn some money, so they raked up the leaves in the front yard yesterday, just in time for a gust of wind to come two hours later and knock down a whole new pile of leaves to rake for next weekend.
