New Kitchen

Last week we painted our kitchen. We still need to paint the cupboards and door white and then put in a Backsplash. We also put in a food storage pantry. We still aren't sure if we will sale our house or just stay here awhile. We keep going back and forth. A couple of weeks ago we put another bid on a foreclosure home. We came in 2nd out of 8 bids. Maybe we are just suppose to stay where we are for now. We still have a lot of projects to do on our home.

Keeko and Ella

2 new members of our family. The girls have asked us for pets for a long time. We finally gave in and got a couple of fish a few years back that lasted a week. Then they wanted turtles. We said Maybe but it never happened. They really want a dog, but Scott is allergic to all animals with fur. So we told them when we get a different house with a fence, we will probably get a dog. Two weeks ago the pet subject came up again. Our friends have 6 hamsters and so the girls asked if they could get two hamsters. Scott and I talked about it and came up with a plan. We told the girls they had to research about Hamsters, write a report about what they learned and then share with us what they learned. We also had questions they had to find out for us. They also had to come up with a plan on how they would earn money to pay us back for them. They read a lot about Hamsters and came up with a power point presentation that they gave to us. So on July 4th we went to the pet shop to price out items and ended up coming home with two new Hamsters. Keeko is Kenna's boy hamster and Tae has Ella, the girl hamster. The Hamsters have to live upstairs so they aren't causing Scott breathing problems. Week one has been great.

What Time is it?????

Summer time!! Schoos out, scream and shout. Hooray!!! I love summer time. Less meetings, homework, driving the kids to school, activities..etc. McKenna finished 7th grade and had a pretty good year. She ended the quarter with straight A's. She has worked hard. She deserves a break.

What A Night!!!

Sorry I haven't felt like blogging for awhile. But this is worthy blogging material.

Last year I was sitting with some family members in Idaho Falls playing 21 questions. They were trying to guess who my favorite Musician is. They had a very hard time figuring it out and I finally had to give them some clues. Elton John!!! I think they were surprised.

I found out in February he was coming to my hometown so I purchased tickets as soon as they came on sale. My early birthday present from scott.

So we went to the concert and I had the best time. I really enjoy his music and he has some great songs. I love hearing him play the piano. Our favorite songs he did was Rocket Man, Crocodile Rock, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Candle In The Wind and Your Song. He played or sang for 2 hrs and 49 minutes. I had a blast!

Parental Advisory: These photos are graphic.

Colby fell at Kohl's yesterday and hurt his mouth. Who has to play hockey to try and knock out your teeth? Just go to kohl's.
He hurt his top two teeth and upper lip. Poor baby. Solid foods hurt his mouth. His mouth looks better today then yesterday.

Byron Reed Baldwin, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away of asbestosis Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at his home in Ammon, Idaho, surrounded by his loved ones.
Byron was born May 29, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Reuben Baldwin and Helen Bullock Harman Baldwin. He grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. He worked as an insulator throughout the northwest.
Byron married the love of his life, Edna Arlene Sorensen, on May 12, 1950, in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to Idaho Falls 49 years ago. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Aug. 13, 1970. Byron and Arlene were seldom apart because they thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. They put that to good use as they owned and operated The Rose Shop in Idaho Falls together for 18 years. In 1981, they sold the business to David and Jacque Higham.
Byron and Arlene's passion was their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Byron especially loved attending their ballgames and he was a fixture throughout Idaho Falls in the stadiums and gyms, where he seldom missed a ballgame. For 18 years, Byron and Arlene enjoyed their winters together in Yuma, Ariz., where they made many new friends and were visited often by family. In May 2010, they celebrated their 60th anniversary with an evening at The Rose Shop with family and friends.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Byron served in various capacities over the years, including High Priest group secretary and sports director. He enjoyed coaching sports teams for 35 years, including Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, girl's fast-pitch softball, City League basketball and softball and high school baseball. The individuals he coached were his closest friends and relationships.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, coaching, woodwork and ceramic art.
Byron is survived by his loving wife, Arlene; two daughters, Diane (John) Griffin and Deridee (Todd) Brooks, both of Idaho Falls; three sons, Darrell (Carol) Baldwin of Rigby, Idaho, and Dale (Sally) Baldwin and Donnie (Lori) Baldwin, both of Idaho Falls; two sisters, Louise Purdue of Salt Lake City and Norma (Glen) Bennett of Bountiful, Utah; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer Baldwin and Floyd Baldwin; and three grandchildren, Justin Griffin, Spencer Brooks and Stephanie Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the Ammon LDS 15th Ward building, 3000 Central Ave., with Bishop Brett Acor officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, Feb. 15, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and from noon to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
