Kenna and Tae's schools turned 100 years old last week. The cops shut down the street right in front of the school for the Franklin parade. Each class took a decade and came up with creative ideas to show case their decade. McKenna's class had the 20's and Tae's the 70's. Many alumni came to help celebrate. There was a reception, some keynote speakers, an Art Walk, tours of the school and some cake for all. It was a very fun day. Some of my friends have wondered what the APPLE program is that my girls go to at Franklin. APPLE is a part of the regular school system but is a program where the parents give 90 hours a year to help out the teachers or the school in general. This helps the teachers so they don't have to spend so much of their time copying and grading papers but can concentrate on each individual child's learning. Also the parents can help a child who might need a little more help with reading or math, etc. We love this program!!!Our kids love it as well. We also have an auction every year that APPLE puts on to help send the kids on extra field trips, have celebration and awesome learning experiences. The auction grossed $34,000. This helps the kids have wonderful experiences at Franklin. Happy 100 years!!!!

No wonder parents are putting their children on the waiting list to get into Franklin. They have such great fun there and the children are so lucky to have so many wonderful experiences. What's McKenna wearing on her head?
A HAT MADE OUT OF BROWN PAPER BAG THAT LOOKS LIKE ONES THERY WORE IN THE 20'S.
