Story Time

We have had nice weather here, so Monday we took the kids out for a walk/bike ride. Then yesterday Colby brought me his shoes for the first time. I put them on his tiny feet and then he went to the door and looked out the window. I thought maybe he wanted to go outside like we did Monday night but wasn't sure. I didn't think he would remember we need shoes on our feet to go outside, plus he likes putting my shoes on himself, so I just went on cleaning house. a half hour later I took him downstairs to get the laundry and he took me to the back door. I knew he really did want to go outside. Too bad it was nap time. But after nap and dinner he was finally able to go outside with McKenna, Tae and dad while I went to a meeting. He loves it outside and this morning he brought me his shoes again. Funny kid.

I love this message!!!!

I saw this on one of my friends blogs and stole it. This is how I "C" it too. Love it and she put it in the best words ever.

Today, as Jav was watching Shrek, he said, "Your a princess mom." "I'm a princess?" To which he replied with a mischievous smile, "No, you're not a princess." "Oh, well what am I?""Your a mama!"And that's the truth of it! In the worlds eye (and sometimes mine on a bad day) I am just a mama covered in bodily fluids, food, snot, and dirt. With my sweats and ponytail, I often look very disheveled and unattractive. To the world, I need a makeover (and I probably do)! To the world, I should use my education and do something important! In the Lord's eye, I am a Queen. I am a woman who has given up much in order to raise my boys. I have submitted to the goo and gross stuff for a bigger purpose; for the most important job there is. I AM A MAMA! My boys don't care what I look like, they love me no matter what. They love me when I'm crabby, when I don't feel good, when I look horrible. They love me when they probably have good reason not too! They are the perfect example of perfect love, Christ's love!
So, yes, I might be in my sweats or pj's for the umpteenth day in a row, and I might not have make-up on, and I might smell like a mixture of dirt, spit, and cheerios but I am a QUEEN and I am a MAMA! I have the most important job on earth...and most of the time I do alright! I get paid in smiles, giggles, and snuggles. I get paid in thank you's and "you're the bestest mom ever!" I get paid in watching my boys grow up to be kind, thoughtful, unselfish, and forgiving! There is no salary better than this! For this, I am thankful!

Mr. President

The handsome new Junior class president at IFHS. My brother Brandon Griffin!
He campaigned this last week and gave his speech today and was elected. His slogan was "Anything is Possible".
My parents have had all their children go through IFHS. My parents have had children that were student athletes of the week, students athletes of the year, All Conference athletes, Purple tassel students, two homecoming queens, a seminary president and members of the seminary Counsel, a cheerleader, but have never had a class President until now. Way to go Brandon!

How To Eat A Chocolate Bunny

The Easter Bunny left Colby a little chocolate bunny. Daddy gave Colby the bunny to eat. At first Colby just played with the bunny until daddy took a bite to show him how to eat the bunny.

Look at me go! Only a face a mother could love....okay...a few other people too.

Colby ate the bunny in about two minutes.

Can I have another? Hope he doesn't get a tummy ache.

Hoppy Easter!!!!!

Looking for eggs.

We thought Colby would be too young to find the eggs, so we didn't hide him any. He liked the girls, so we gave him four eggs to find with one small jelly bean in each. He liked getting the eggs and shaking them around until he figured out how to open the eggs and eat the bean.

Colby's first Easter. He keeps trying to get Tae's treats.

11 Months

Mom please wash my face.

1 month away from turning 1. Colby cut two more teeth two days ago and now has a total of six. He likes to say "what's that" all the time now, he also says Jesus, cracker, ball, dada, mom, hi and a few others. He started walking everywhere a week ago. He loves his teddy bear that he knows as baby, likes the girls basket and soccer balls. Sleeps great through the night and loves having a blanket with him. Takes 2-3 naps a day. Loves to eat and is still very stubborn, but I love his kisses.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!

The kids enjoyed green waffles and milk. They made leprechaun traps. No luck catching one but candy was left.

I had to throw in a couple of pictures of Co-Co. I know this post is a day late but had technical difficulties yesterday!

Breaking News.......

Daddy's coming home!!!!!!!

Scott was offered a job in our hometown that he accepted. The girls are very excited that dad will be home every night. Colby will be happy to have another man in the house more with all these girls around. Scott will continue to travel the next couple of weeks. Then have a week with the girls for Spring Break and get some work done around home and then start his new job April 5th.
The last three years having daddy travelling around has been hard, but his company has been pretty good to him. He will miss the people but looks forward to his new job as a ultrasound quality control coordinator. He will still travel around our town and neighboring cities and sometimes to Seattle and Phoenix but he will be home a lot more then he is now and most evenings.

Best Of Both Worlds!

I was born in the US and have aways been patriotic towards my country. The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. In fifth grade, I remember studying the 50 states and their capitals. To this day I still remember every state with their capital. I have enjoyed trying to teach my children and husband the states and capitals. I also remember in grade school being fascinated with Canada. Maybe because my sister went on a trip their with my grandparents. Later, my brother was called to serve a church mission in Winnipeg, Canada for two years. I was able to hear some of his experiences and learn more about this beautiful country. Mainly, that is was cold way up north and you could get frostbite. My brother proved that first hand or should I say foot? I always wanted to go there but little did I know that someday I would end up living there for awhile.

I married a Canadian and we have three beautiful children. They love being a part of both nations. We lived in Canada for six years and are now back in the USA. I have been fortunate to feel the patriotic feelings that my Canadian family and friends have towards their country and have come to love Canada. 10 is my favorite number and I have waited along time for the Vancouver games in 2010.
The last two weeks with the Olympics in Canada have been so wonderful. I felt a small connection with the Canadians and found my self cheering for the Canadian and US athletes to do well. I did cheer for Canada to win the gold in Hockey. I felt it would be an end to a great Olympics and Canada deserved it. I was happy with all the results of the games except I wish the Canadian Women's Curling team took gold instead of silver, but as I saw them come into the closing ceremony at the Olympic stadium with the silver around their necks and their big grins, I knew they felt a great accomplishment of how well they had done for their country. I was moved by this. Yes, I still love my USA but am fortunate to have the best of both worlds and cheer for both teams. The US had the most Medals ever won by a country in an Olympic Winter Game and Canada had the most Gold Medals ever won by one country in the Winter games. They both did great.

Thanks to my parents for introducing me to sports and the many hours we watched the Olympics together when I was young. I love them and now will go through the withdrawal as they end. I am proud to be an American with a Canadian family. Thanks to Canada and ALL the Olympic athletes for giving us a wonderful Olympics!!!!I love my American and my Canadian families. I feel so blessed.
